Welcome, and thanks for checking out my website.

I was born and raised in Brazil by a loving Brazilian family with European roots, hence my French name. If you’re wondering about how to pronounce it, listen here, but also know that to most of my colleagues and friends I am simply “G.” 🙂

I am a curious learner and dedicated cross-pollinator of ideas.

My passion and joy in the workplace lie in collaborating with colleagues to design learning experiences that both challenge and inspire individuals to develop the learning dispositions required to navigate the complexities of our ever-evolving technological landscape; in the process, I strive to maximize strengths, build capacity, and amplify opportunities for learners of all ages to be a force for good in the world, see themselves as creators and empathetic agents of change.

I am an advocate for the end-user.

From my first job at age 16, teaching English to fellow Brazilians, to my current leadership role in Educational Technology, my drive to serve and support others has always been among my foremost traits. In my current job, I have collaborated with different stakeholders to ensure that student and teacher needs are at the heart of our technology infrastructure and integration goals. Most prominent over these years, perhaps, was our team’s effort to provide guidance and lead the school through the shift to online learning to respond to the challenges of COVID19. In short, we have learned a great deal about building planes in mid-air!

I have a knack for problem-solving and design.

Through a winding professional path that included four years in the corporate sector, I have developed event logistics and project management skills that deeply enrich my abilities in educational technology leadership.

Additionally, as a former Journalism major and lifelong visual storyteller, I have an unwavering passion for photography, graphic/web design and communications. My latest design project centered around rethinking the American International School of Bucharest’s brand and visual identity with a team of design teachers in-house. Over the span of two months, I personally worked to design, write copy for, and deliver a complete overhaul of the school’s website, followed by the redesign of all the internal digital communication.

“The road is life.”

I read On the Road by Jack Kerouac over two frenetic days at age 16. I don’t think I had the tools to understand it as well then, but after having traveled to more than 60 countries and living for extended periods in Thailand, India, and Romania over the last 12 years, I now see the perks of living in transit.

Alongside my love of film, music and the arts, traveling the world with my US-born husband Kirk and our little Romanian rescue Lucy has rewarded me with so much more than all the sights, flavors and photographic opportunities; it has provided me with the springboard to develop empathy, open-mindedness and intercultural sensitivities, as well as a deep appreciation for difference.
