As our school-wide EAL Department pursued a quest to empower teachers to make content comprehensible for our ELLs at AES Delhi, a great idea came up from the Curriculum Office: What if we created a video that documented the challenges, the social conflicts, the feelings and insights of these students about how they see themselves belonging to our institution?
And what if this video were to be completely created by them, in an effort to give them ownership of their learning?
Well, an incredible product was eventually created by six bright ELLs in 8th grade, with a little help from Ms. G.!
The writers, directors and producers of this documentary would be delighted to know what you think. : )
